Bollywood has the magic that no one can escape and everyone keeps coming back attracted. And this time to fall for its beauty is government of New Zealand. Switzerland and Australia may have given many a chances to shoot on their land to Indian filmmakers but this island country is the latest to have this excitement.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key had a meeting with director duo Abbas-Mustan and actors Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu on the sets at film city. A part of the film was also shot in New Zealand itself. This film in co-production agreement will surely encourage Indian filmmakers to shoot in the country itself as not to go outside and even attract tourists.
John Key is in India on a 3 day trip. The remake of the Hollywood blockbuster being directed by Abbas-Mustan has marked the beginning of his itinerary on Wednesday. He made his appearance with an entourage of New Zealand delegates at film city in Gurgaon East and was heartily welcomed by members of the film’s cast and crew by Viacom 18 COO Vikram Malhotra. And rest who were present the lead couple of the movie Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu along with the director duo. Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Neil Nitin Mukesh are also the part of the movie who could not attend the event due to their prior commitments to others.
Addressing the media, Key thanked Players’ team for filming extensively in New Zealand. “I have seen a couple of photographs of the Players crew filming in Wellington and Auckland. Bollywood is a great way to showcase our country to Indian audiences. We hope that the agreement between our countries will increase cooperation and encourage more Indian filmmakers to make movies in New Zealand,” he said.
New Zealand’s presence at the FICCI forum was also to excite interest in the filmmaker’s. But the John key’s visit to India to the sets has played a very crucial part as in developing a relationship with the country which is famous for its beauty. There was also an hike in the number of tourists from India which has recently surged from 15,000 a year to 30,000 ever since ‘Kaho na pyar hai’ was filmed there along with other productions there after explored the destination.
